Hotels.com Welcome Rewards – book 10 hotel nights, get 1 free

Hotels.com has a loyalty program called Welcome Rewards.   Ideally, I don’t like to book through third party sites like Hotels.com, but there are times when I do.   Although their rewards program is not great, it is worth something.  The idea is fairly simple, book 10 nights through their website and get one free.

The most important thing to know is that according to the terms and conditions, “The maximum value of the free night is the average daily rate of your ten (10) nights stay.  *free night does not include taxes and fees.”

To give you an example, I earned a free night in my account as shown below:

free night

My free night is worth $108.78, an average of the amount spent on the 10 booked nights.  So, it’s really just getting 10% off your booking each time.  The full terms and conditions of the free night are listed below:

Open to individuals who are 18 or older and have a valid email address.  When you book and stay ten (10) nights at a Hotels.com Welcome Rewards™ property, you’ll earn one (1) free night at a Hotels.com Welcome Rewards™ property.  The maximum value of the free night is the average daily rate of your ten (10) nights stay.  *free night does not include taxes and fees. You may pay the difference if you choose a room that costs more.  You are responsible for paying for taxes, fees, meals, incidentals and any other costs associated with the reservation or stay. And you cannot use any balance from free night credit to pay taxes, fees, meals, incidentals or any other costs. Reservations made using a non-zero dollar coupon or discount code do not qualify toward the ten (10) nights. *Your free night does not include taxes and fees.  Subject to complete Terms & Conditions.

I will follow up with a later post on why one may or may not want to book through Hotels.com.  Welcome rewards also has silver and gold tiers, but the benefits of those are not significant in my opinion.
